Music Prelim 2 (+Other Stuff)

Hi guys, sorry i haven't posted in a while, i have been preparing for my 2nd Music Prelim but i've also been feeling quite ill. Not ill enough to stop me doing the Prelim but just generally making me feel tired and lazy lol.

So settle in for quite a long post :D

Anyhoo,

I had my Music Prelim on Thursday........

It went pretty much as i expected. Average.

I'm by no means really good on guitar (better on bass) but i'm still fairly content with how everything went overall. It was strange tho, i thought i would be performing on one of the school's electric guitars but 10 mins before they said i couldn't.
1. I hadn't been practising on that exact guitar
2. The battery is running low on that guitar (wtf, guitars don't have batteries :S)

Oh well, so at the end of the day i had to perform on an acoustic which i wasn't too happy with coz hammer-ons and pull-offs etc. sound crappy compared to electric.

But i went in and gave it my best and done good enough.
I had two pieces i was confident with and one not so confident and the grade reflected that :

Piece 1 - 8/9
Piece 2 - 6/9
Piece 3 - 7/9

I say 9 because 10's aren't given in the Prelim as people might become to complacent.
And to be brutally honest, i think i may have done better had i been playing on electric, but never mind.

So anyway it's pretty much what i expected, Piece 2 being the dodgy one, and i would have got 8 on Piece 3 but i messed up the last bar :( Gutted.

Might be getting too in depth now but overall i achieved an 'A' in the Prelim (adding both Bass and Guitar results together) getting 43 out of 60. 42 and above is an 'A' so i'm happy with that!

I took notes on what i had to do to improve on each song but that would be way too much i think haha. However, if you're desperate to find out then let me know :)

Also, before the final practical exam,(In April 2010) my mum has promised to get me an electric guitar of my own (At the moment i only have an acoustic)
So we will go hunting tomorrow morning in some guitar shops for a good guitar. I know it won't be an expensive one but i'm not bothered, as long as it plays good and is comfortable, that's all i care about.

The next load of info is just going to be a whole mash-up of things that have been happening lol, so be prepared.

Where to start?

Yeah, i'll start with a good friend of mine who added me on MSN. We got talking and over the past few days i encouraged him to start a blog coz i thought it could really help him.
I won't give his name away, coz i don't know if he wants to or not
But here's his blog (it's on Wordpress) :

http://theunknownboy.wordpress.com/

Please pay him a little visit and leave a comment, for me!!! :D
Also, he isn't Brtish, American or Australian and his English isn't 100% but its still completely understandable so i ask if you could just have a little look, cheers.

What else? What else?

errr..... i bought a new Track Pack for Rock Band 2 lol :P
Wolfmother.....3 songs off their new album (Cosmic Egg) and 2 off their first album (Wolfmother). It is completely amazing, jumping around my room making myself look like a tit, lol. At least nobody can see me there.

Next week is shaped up to be a real pisser of a week. Loads of tests, gaaahhhh! Plus it will be made extra long knowing that i have my "Epic Week" right after it. (Seeing Muse and Kasabian)
The thought alone will keep me going next week, hopefully.

One thing about seeing Muse tho is that, i have been following their setlists, getting an idea for what they might play when i see them. It ain't looking too good. They're playing the exact same stuff over and over again and they aren't even the best songs :(
Maybe i'm just being pessimistic.....i'm sure i will not give a damn on the night lol.

Football has been making a kind of come back recently for me. Liverpool thankfully beat Man U last Sunday, so i was pretty relieved but then we lost to Arsenal mid-week....out of the cup......again
I guess football always has it's ups and downs and if you're a football fan, you know what you are in for.
Fulham this weekend tho :D Should take care of them.....

And speaking of Arsenal, i will be going to Steven's house tomorrow for Fireworks and Festivities!
Oh yeh, he's an Arsenal fan :P
Maybe not the smartest idea considering his dad is also an Arsenal fan and also considering the result mid-week.....
Yes i will get some stick but i've had a fair amount this week so i am prepared.

Anyway, going to Steven's house will be great fun. I don't get to see fireworks a lot so going to see some early fireworks will be awesome! I might even get to light a few, seeing as his dad is so legendary!
Actually, they spent £128 on fireworks alone last weekend so i have no doubt tomorrow will be an absolute wild night!
We're not going trick-or-treating.....instead, we will provide the Halloween go-ers with some entertaining fireworks!

And no matter, how (er.....) blurred Steven and his dad's views are on ethnic minorities and the likes, i am determined to just enjoy myself. (After all, i did spend a whole week at his house once and made it out unscathed:P )
So, it looks pretty good, not just the fireworks, but i'm staying the night and Steven and his dad have some of the best banter ever! Can't wait to join in, lol.

*inhales.....exhales.....*

That's about all i can think of at this current moment.
It might not take long to read but it is to write, haha.

I'll try to keep my posts more regular but i can't promise anything coz the next couple of weeks are gonna be pretty hectic.

So goodbye from me for now!

Cheers guys,
Rowan

P.S

The other night, i was looking out my window as the sun was setting and the sky looked wonderful! It was a mix of pink and orange and just really looked great. So i might try and search out a suitable picture to make as a backround pic or something.
At the time i was listening to a Wolfmother song and that moment was just really nice, (sounds quite soppy lol)
But anyway i am quite obsessed with this song at the moment, lol.

Here it is :

Pretty good video, eh?
Not an official video but it's well-made

See ya!

Twinergy and the Boys of Clear Lake

I know i mentioned this a few days ago but i only spoke about it briefly.

I did find it quite enjoyable but one thing that put me off it was the chapter length.....whoa took me over half an hour to read one chapter lol
But it has been changed now and the chapter's are shorter and easier to read, so i added it to me Blog List and i recommend people to check it out.

Twinergy and the Boys of Clear Lake is a coming of age story about a boy named......wait for it......Nikita. Him and his best friend Cody, both 13,  growing up together, getting up to all sorts of stuff. And by that i don't just mean of a sexual nature (although i have come across a few bits with that in it so far) It honestly is pretty well written i have to say, so drop in and have a look for yourself :

Cheers,
Rowan

P.S. I got one more follower, funnily enough, while typing this out (So, hello and welcome) but now i have 13 followers! NOOO! Bad luck for me? Haha, but i'd rather not be stuck on 13, i just don't like the look of the number either lol

Question Time/Today's events

I can say right now, that i have never had a great deal of interest in politics
I did however watch Question Time last night on the BBC, obviously because BNP Leader, (Dick) Nick Griffin was on it.

(For those who don't know, BNP is this horrible, far right party, who have loads of stupid policies about immigration, race, homosexuality etc etc.)

So i watched it, and i came to the conclusion (probably like most) that he is an utter loony.

I found quite a lot of the stuff boring to be honest, but it was clear to see that Nick Griffin was losing the plot. Pretending he didn't say things in which he had been quoted, seemingly changing his party's stance as he went along, lol, he made a right dick of himself.

At the end it came to this thing about homosexuality, i can't remember much, but he was well against it and it was nice to see the audience was against him, as was i of course.
He said he doesn't think it should be taught in schools.....is it at this current moment? I don't remember receiving this lesson so why is he making a big thing about it?

I personally, can't give my own answer on that coz i really don't care if it is taught in schools or not, it wouldn't affect me anyway.

But at the end of the day Nick Griffin made an arse of himself and that is all that matters. HAHA

* * *

Erm, not much really happened today, although i was discussing Question Time with my good friend Steven (lol, two 15 year olds discussing politics, quite sad.)
He's a bit strange at times, he's funny and a loyal friend but he seems to hate loads of ethnic minorities. In a political world he would be Nick Griffin. I think he is influenced by his dad a lot as well, who is also really funny but also hates lots of ethnic minorities, so i think it has rubbed off on Steven quite a bit.

Anyhoo, we were discussing Question Time and he said he thought Nick Griffin made some good points.....GTFO MATE! He was an arse!

I think he says he likes BNP just for humorous effect but he can sometimes be qute serious about it.

He said, "Why do you not like BNP? They want all blacks out of Britain!"
"How is that a good thing? What's wrong with blacks?"
".............they're black"
"What's that for? Blacks have never done anything to harm you"
"Fine then, he wants all gays out"
"Steven, i don't know why you hate so many different groups of people, but you've got to learn to accept people more"
"The hell i do"

Again, ignorance.....so i didn't go any further with it.
I like Steven, i really do, as i said, he's funny and loyal and just a really good friend but at times he comes out with this pointless load of shit leaving me wondering why i'm friends with him. I dunno.

That's all for now, but i just wanted to mention this new story that was linked on the RB site

http://twinergyandtheboysofclearlake.wordpress.com/

I read the first chapter and will probably read on, so there's the link for anyone interested. I will say tho, that you may have to set aside some time to read a chapter coz they are fairly long, longer than RB's chapters anyway.

Cheers,
Rowan

9th November - 15th November 2009

I will talk about said week later in the post but just thought i would mention what happened today :)

Wolfmother tickets went on pre-sale this morning and Alex's mum managed to get 3 that we were wanting so we will get to see them in January. It will be so awesome:D

As soon as we could at first interval we ran off into the nearby woods to make the call to his mum, who confirmed that she got them. Standing places as well!

* * *

Anyway, onto talk about this week in November. 9th - 15th.

IT WILL BE AMAZING

Firstly, it's my work experience that week. I will be working in a music recording studio, only a few streets away, the people there are really great and of course, love music. So i have no doubt it will be pretty enjoyable. Oh, and the hours?
12pm - 4pm
So i'm only in for four hours a day!

Now i know Mirrorboy has been doing work experience recently but from what i can gather, it is set out differently to mine.
It seems his lasts over a period of a few weeks and he goes in once a week.
Mine will last over 1 week and i go in everyday.
I prefer it that way.....no school. Simple as.

So, work experience in a music recording studio, Mon - Fri, 12pm - 4pm. No school.
Not a bad deal.

But that isn't all that's happening that week......noooo
I will be attending two concerts that week!
Muse and Kasabian, two of my favourite bands.
So yes, it will be a fairly busy week and potentially one of the best of my life. I'm just looking ahead to that with great impatience. It won't come soon enough! Hurry Up! lol
Just gotta get these next few weeks out of the way and then i can enjoy myself.

And i really do have to enjoy that week coz there won't be many more like it afterwards.
November is where the real hard work starts in preparation for exams, which take place in April - June next year....

Prelims are before that tho, most take place in January and February, so they may clash with Wolfmother......gotta hope they don't.
Some prelims, as you might now, take place now and December : Music and French

Music is half-done (2nd part being next Thursday) and French Oral (lol) will be in December. Merry Christmas! HAHA Thanks for that French teachers....

That's looking quite far ahead tho, so for now i will just look forward to that magical week in November that won't come quickly enough!

Cheers,
Rowan

Football sucks

Football (or soccer for any Americans or Australians) is just shit.

Sorry for my bluntness but it really is.

Tonight's Champions League didn't go well at all.

I like seeing British teams do well and none even won tonight!

Rangers 1 - 4 Unirea
AZ 1 - 1 Arsenal

but the worst of the lot :

Liverpool 1 - 2 Lyon

I really like(d) Liverpool and it was the biggest kick in the head when Lyon scored their 2nd into extra time.

I don't usually give up on things easily but following Liverpool doesn't have it's advantages. Recently they've been playing awful and this was just it....i can't take it any more. I couldn't care for football right now.
Furthermore, Liverpool's next fixtures are rivals Man Utd and then Arsenal next week. Not good. Liverpool are currently on 4 losses in a row and it wouldn't surprise me if it was 6 by the end of next week.

Football just depresses me, so i'm going to forget about it for a while.

I do apologise if you,

1) Don't like football
2) Found this post depressing

But i had to mention this and there we are, i'm off to bed......

Back to Shhhhhchool/Sweet Dreams

It's always awful going back to school after a week's holiday,

- You don't wanna go back
- You're getting used to not being there
- You're sleep pattern has been interrupted

It was mostly the 3rd one for me,

Over the past week i have been staying up to really stupid times such as 2/3am in the morning and waking up at about Noon.
The same applied this morning except i couldn't sleep till noon unfortunately, so i didn't end up having the best of days.

I did actually go to bed at the fairly reasonable time of Half Ten last night but i couldn't get to sleep for love nor money, so i just listened to music on my phone and tried to drift off. Still wasn't working so i switched the phone off.....still nothing.
So i layed there, eyes open and out of nowhere i had this flashback to when i was about 3 years old....one of my earliest memories of life.

I don't remember much of that time period of course but i remember this particular incident.
My best-friend at the time lived across the street and i had this tricycle that i used to ride on our pretty much car-less cul-de-sac street. One day, i was cycling (or tricycling it) across to my friends house and the next thing i know i'm staring at the front of a black BMW.

And that's it! This memory just randomly occured and for some reason it prompted me to take a trip down memory lane and for the next hour or two i re-called various memories from my early childhood. I was actually surprsied at how much i could remember. It was the strangest thing!
I re-called my memories before school, then nursery/pre-school and the first few years of school. It was actually a really nice and peaceful experience, recalling this stuff while staring up at the sky, undisturbed, in complete silence.

This, however, did have it's consequences as i only got about 4 hours sleep and had to got to school, which pretty much killed me lol.

Nothing much eventful happened, apart from i learned that one of my favourite bands, Wolfmother, will be touring the UK in January, with tickets being released this Wed-Fri, so hoping to get some, me and Alex will probably go. Can't wait!

Also, i have my 2nd Music Prelim next Thursday on guitar, which i'm not so confident about. Hence why i made sure it was the 2nd Prelim, giving me longer to learn the pieces.

Will probably post again later this week, although it will be quite busy, i want to speak about the week beginning 9th November, which will be very eventful indeed, so that should hopefully come sometime after Wednesday :D

That's about it for now,

Cheers,
Rowan

P.S Here's a Wolfmother video for y'all (it's a bit out of sync)

Walking the Dog, Stephen Gately

Thought i would try a different font  :D
I'll leave sizes and colours for now,

Anyway, who thought dog walking could be such an adventure?

Yep, i have a dog :) I don't normally walk the dog at night but i wanted to tonight, just to get some fresh air.
There's a few reasons i don't normally walk the dog at night

1) Bad people are around at night
2) If i let to dog off the lead i could lose it

I encountered both those problems tonight.....

First of all, i was just walking along, minding my own when this group of guys (a few years older than me) aim a firework at me.....yes, a freakin firework!

Bonfire night is a few weeks off yet but they still had some stuff.

They couldn't light it tho for whatever reason and ran off. I just stood there coz there was nothing else i could honestly do. It scared the shit out me tho, i was watching my back constantly until i got back home.

This was made worse when i let the dog off the lead.....it sees a fox across the road and instinctively chases it. Normally she would just come back but as it was dark i couldn't see where she went.
So, for the next fifteen minutes i'm wandering around, watching my back, looking for a presumably lost dog. After i while i told myself that i had to go home and tell of the bad news, but who is sitting outside the front door?.....Yeh, the dog, looking at me as if  "where have you been?"
I felt stupid lol.
I decided to simply forget about it and go inside, besides, it was freezing outside.

A bit later on, i nipped into the kitchen to get a drink, while my dad is watching something about Stephen Gately's funeral on TV, it was just on the news i think. Then he says, "Thank God"
I reply, confused, "What?"
"That poof's funeral"
I'm not just gonna stand there so i say "Aw, come on Dad, the guy died, have a bit of respect"
"Why?"
"Coz he died..."
"So what, it's one less gay off the streets"
Saddened, i say "Who cares if he was gay? He died!"
"He still took it up the chuff"

I decided not to go any further with my Dad's ignorance but it did sadden me.
I don't pretend to be the biggest Stephen Gately or Boyzone fan, but i do say - R.I.P Stephen Gately, i do apologize on my Dad's behalf.

Anyhoo, i thought my Dad was more decent than that, and he has said to me on a few occasions that he has no problem with gays etc. so i don't know why he decided to take that attitude tonight. Possible that he was just back from a long shift at work but it's still no excuse for those uneeded comments.

Now, to relate back to my last post,

Thanks for your comments everyone. I know labels aren't important and maybe i worded the post wrong but this is all to do with coming out. I know i want to, and i'm pretty sure i will one day, maybe even soon.
There are only two people in my life i would think of coming out to right now -  my cousin and my best friend, Alex, - most likely my cousin. She's really kind, she's funny and understanding as well :) But obviously i can't come out if i'm not even sure myself yet.
And i'm sorry but i can't just say to her,
"Hey guess what, i'm not straight but i dunno if i'm gay or bi"
That would just confuse her, and i wouldn't want to put her in that position.

On the other hand, if she asked me if i was gay or bi, i wouldn't really know how to respond, i would probably just pass it off and say no, which would make it even more difficult if i was to try and come out to her after that. However, she's not the kind of person who asks those questions, so i would rather i approached her first about it.

But to clear things up, that last post was pretty much a debate between myself, i wasn't really trying to label myself, i'm just kinda in the early stages of preparing to come out, if you get me.

Having some trouble with embedding just there, but hopefully it's worked now:P
It a video for Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling, it's not the official video, this was filmed in a University in Canada and it's absolutely amazing, so here it is -

The Truth - My Sexuality

Hi guys, not sure how to start this one really, so lets go straight for it.

This is quite confusing, even for me, so if you have problems understanding it i do apologize.

I introduced myself as bisexual at the start of my blog, and i do stand by that....for now.
Sometimes, however, i do wonder if i'm actually gay, it's really difficult trying to figure it out. I have dedicated many hours to just sit and ponder this, arguing for one case, arguing for the other. But at least i know for certain that i'm definetely not straight, so we can eliminate that one right away.

I know i definetely like guys, i have accepeted this fact for many years now, i'm happy with it, and i have accepted myself (which some say is the first step to coming out.) I don't say i'm bi to try and pretend to myself that i'm not gay, i might be, and if i am, so be it.

I do have some memories of me liking girls,
When i was about 7, i remembered liking this one girl and i would talk to her a lot but that was just a silly little playground thing. And i remember my 10th birthday party, another girl i liked kissed a friend of mine and i really had a crush on her at the time so i was quite jealous. Looking back, this might have been the moment that turned me....i think i went "Ok, if this is what happens, i'm staying away from girls, screw 'em"
I don't think i realised that at the time, but after this i was never really into girls the same way.
For a few years i didn't even care, but at 12/13, when i went to High School, i started to realise boys. I didn't think much of it at the time but over the next year or two i gradually came to accept that i wasn't straight. Of course i'm over that now and there's no going back, but i wouldn't want to anyway, i'm perfectly happy not being straight but it's just what's happening at the moment that is bothering me.

Relating back to the title of the post, the truth is :

I'm not sure.

If i had to go with anything i would say i am maybe more bi than gay but i can't give a definitive answer right now.
I definetley prefer guys over girls and i take more notice of guys when i'm in school, out of school, watching tv/movies etc. I watch some movies just becuase of the guys in them. I never do that for girls but i do sometimes see girls that i think are cute and attractive. Maybe it's the school i go to, loads of the girls are just caked with make-up and they look absolutely stupid and that just makes me turn a blind eye to them. I couldn't care the tiniest bit for them. One or two stand out, the ones that are nice, funny and don't cake themselves with make-up. However, there isn't really a girl who i ever want to go up and just start talking to, thats more guys.

For now, i'm gonna leave it.
I've said my bit and i don't feel as if i could say much more right now. I don't feel right at the minute, i just wanna post this and go lie down, this post has put me in a depressed but thinking mood.

If anyone would like to help me or if you just wanna chat don't hesitate to e-mail or add me on MSN : lets-start-over@hotmail.com
Thats where you'll find me.

Cheers,
Rowan.

Looks like it will wait until the weekend.....

Blog Distributor

hey guys,

i recently received an e-mail off some person/thing called Blog Distributor saying that they would pay for me to post on my blog
I think it's a load of crap

Firstly, my e-mail filter thingy warned it may be dangerous and secondly, it just seemed to good to actually be true. Also they offered me dollars which is not very useful to me as i live in UK.

just wanna know what anyone else thinks of this and if anyone else has received this email, please let me know.

As i said it seems like a hoax but you never know

Cheers,
Rowan

oh yeh, incase you missed it, i added a profile picture :D

What a Day!

This was some day i had today (well yesterday now) but i will just say today

I hadn't even planned on doing anything, maybe get a start on homework or some boring crap when my good friend Alex called and asked if i wanted to go see a movie, i said "sure, what's for seeing?" and he recommended Zombieland, which i heard had good reviews....so we agreed to go and see it

The next screening was too early so we decided to go and see the one at 4pm or whatever it was, we missed that one as well coz the train was late (goddamn trains)
But missing it was actually a good thing, we got to cinema and found the next screening wasn't until 6:30pm lol, so we booked early tickets for that, leaving us with two hours to do whatever the hell we wanted. We went and bought some cd's (Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down and Kasabian) then we spent about an hour in a music store trying out various guitars and basses, it was well fun! I got to use this lovely Red Fender Jazz bass and Alex was lucky enough to get a go on a Gibson SG! I think it's because he's quite well known in the shop as he is going there for work experience.

Anyhoo we almost lost track of time but did actually make it to the cinema with about 10 mins to spare, only then did i find out that the guy at the desk a few hours ago printed me off a wrong ticket. He booked me in for District 9 while he booked Alex in for Zombieland at the same time, however he managed that one i don't know :P. But i got the ticket changed and everything was fine.

Now, Zombieland being a comedy-horror might not be everyone's cup of tea but it has to be one of the best movies i have seen this year. It is absolutely hilarious, i'm not the biggest gore fan so it was the comedy that kept me most entertained as well as Woodly Harrelson's character, just amazing.

The movie finished about half eight or nine o'clock which means it was the latest i have ever been in town! I go to town maybe once or twice a month but i never usually stay out too late. It wasn't actually until about 10pm that we caught the train home. But the train journey was something that rounded off the day nicely.

The train was pretty quiet so Alex started playing some music on his phone, he started playing Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix and he noticed (i didn't at the time) that the guy across the aisle was quietly drumming away to it......so the song finished and so did the guy.

So, Alex whispers to me that the guy across the way is drumming to our music and puts on Plug in Baby by Muse and what do you know!? He starts drumming to that as well!!!

We started smiling at each other and then we caught the eyes of the guy across the way and just burst out laughing.....we played about half of Muse's album Origin of Symmetry on the train, while i played air-bass,
Alex air-guitared and the guy across the way air-drummed!

A MUSE AIR-JAM ON THE TRAIN!

thankfully it was quiet so we got no stares from people lol

At some point the guy's phone went and he picked it up and said, "you won't believe it, some kids on the train are playing their way through Origin of Symmetry on their phones"
we were laughing so hard and it made it all the better when he said, "right i gotta go - New Born is starting"

(for those who aren't familiar with Muse, New Born and Plug in Baby are both amazing songs, you should check them out;) In fact Muse are awesome all together so just check Muse out lol, and Origin of Symmetry is the best album)

.........

anyway, words just can't describe how good that journey was

we actually hardly spoke throughout but said our goodbyes when we got off, and he complimented our tunes

Alex and i were honestly stunned when we got off the train, we just laughed all the way home.

And if that isn't a good enough rounding off of the day, i just won the Premiership and FA Cup on FIFA 09, beating Chelsea 4-1 in the final!
Ah, good times....

So, to recap:

Went to see Zombieland
Missed it
Bought some cd's and played some guitars
Seen 2nd screening of Zombieland, was amazing
Latest i've ever been in town - 10pm
Met a Muse fan on the train, had an air-jam session :D
Won the League and Cup in FIFA 09

and there ya go,
and incase there wasn't enough awesome and zombie-slaying packed into today : i'm off to watch Shaun of the Dead, lol

Cheers everyone,
Rowan

Music Prelim and other stuff

I ment to post this yesterday but i saved it as a draft and forgot to publish it. Whoops. Oh well, i can talk about today as well then. I changed all the today's etc. to yesterday's tho

Yes, well, yesterday was my music prelim and i was performing on the bass guitar
I didn't sleep much on Sunday night, coz i was thinking about it alot but i needn't have worried too much.

I did what is probably average....which is annoying to me, really annoying.
We've been preparing for ages and i know the 3 separate pieces really well but i didn't get the mark i desired.
I was extremely nervous in the lead up to it tho, i was sitting in this practice room, having one last practice when the examiner comes randomnly bursting in and says "Might as well do it a few minutes early, no?"

"NO!"

but i said "ok"

By this time, the nervousness had actually disappeared and i was feeling good, but i would rather have had a full practice run first.
So we started and she sat next to me while i was performing, which went fairly smoothly. I just played each piece like i normally do and everything was fine, I only messed up once, on the last song, but we can't be perfect. However, afterwards was a different story.

When we had properly finished, she said "thanks" and then said that my rhythm was off in two of the songs, and she criticised me for my mistake on the last song, which was nothing too major. We didn't find our scores out until today, but i had a quick glance at her marking sheet and all three songs were marked down in the 7-8/10 bracket.

I went in aiming for at least 8 or 9 in each song, because i can play them well.
Don't get me wrong tho, 7 and 8 out of 10 is still an "A" pass but in my opinion her marking was harsh and other people commented on that as well.

But the thing about the rhythm really got to me, i had no idea what she was talking about, i am convinced i played my pieces to a pretty high standard.....
It's really annoying, i consider myself better than that, coz i have been playing for three years and have been practicing those pieces for at least two months!

Anyway, my marks were
Piece 1 - 7
Piece 2 - 8
Piece 3 - 7

which gives an average of 7.3 for each song
add up all the scores and you get 22 out of 30

My personal preditions were
Piece 1 - 9
Piece 2 - 8
Piece 3 - 9

average of 8.7 for each song
and 26 out of 30 overall

anyway, i told my mum the scores and she said that they were still good results (and they are!) but she said, the teachers don't give good marks in the prelim because they don't want pupils to become complacent before the final exam. This made me feel better. And it is true as well, the highest mark in my class was three 9's. Nobody got ten.
As is said, the prelim was nothing to worry about but i expected better.

But i've got to concentrate on the guitar prelim now, which is on Thurdsay 29th October.
I'm nowhere near as good on guitar as i am on bass, so i'm not too confident about this one now, especially after the bass results.

Elsewhere, on Monday
Media Studies is no longer fun, in the space of one period we went from having a laugh onto analysing newspapers, IN ALOT OF DEPTH!
BAH!
and we got told we have a test, the week before we go for work experience, which is turning out to be quite an eventful week already (2nd - 8th Nov) work experience is on 9th - 15th Nov

Alos, i failed a Spanish test....*facepalms*
I only have myself to blame tho, i did not study and i have to re-sit tomorrow. Thankfully tho, i couldn't be singled out because half the class failed as well, and those who passed, cheated. At least i'm honest.

P.E was a load of shit
I can't do physical activities at the moment because my ankle has been annoying me (i broke it three years ago) so i had to sit in the fitness suite which always has this awful music playing. I swear i don't think there was one song there than wasn't in this week's top 10. The only song i sort of enjoyed was I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas, dunno where that is in the charts but apart from that it was awful.

Biology was good hehe
I sit next to this really cute guy, who i am on quite friendly terms with so we talk quite often but about halfway through the period he dropped his pen.....i thought he was gonna ask me to get it for him but he went to get it himself and i swear to god his head was literally on my lap. I just sat there containing my excitment, pretending nothing was happening lol. So did he, he didn't say anything afterwards. There's no chance tho that he is gay or bi. The reason for this being that he is quite a ladies man, but at least i got something out of that boring Biology period haha.

Not much happened today tho,
Guidance teacher again failed to mention the blazer to me
A Maths test and a Media Studies test has been organised for that week before work experience. So now that's 3 tests that week!
I said i would tell about my first English timed essay, so i shall,
I got 16 out of 25, average again for 1st timed essay but i would have liked to have done better.
And of course, i got my music results back....

Hasn't been the best couple of days, but i will keep my head up and look forward to (more!) holidays!
Yes, more! Not in this Friday or the whole of next week due to "October holidays" lol
It's a piss-take how many holidays we get lol, but i'm not gonna complain.

Anyhoo, that might well be my longest post to date!

Thanks and welcome to the followers who have joined since my most recent post and thanks again to those who have been following for a bit longer. All your support and comments are well appreciated

Cheers,

P.S. i've added a Blog Roll/List of my favourite blogs, just in case anyone's interested

Thank you Tristan

Hello everyone,

A post or two ago i included a link to "A Rent-Boy Named..." the story on Wordpress, just basically to let everyone know how great the story was, i wasn't looking for any reward but it seems as if i got one!

Yesterday, when i got home from school i jumped onto the website, as i do most days, to check if there was a new chapter posted. The "2" on the monthly calendar was highlighted so i hovered over it with the cursor to find that it was not a chapter but "Click the link and say Hi"
Intrigued, i clicked the link and what did i find?.....a link to my blog!
I had to re-read it to make sure it was real, and when i did i just simply sat there going "WOW"

so unexpected.....

I didn't know what to do, so i thought the best thing to do would be to e-mail my thank you's to Tristan, so i did.
And being curious, i hinted towards his real name. (I personally think it is a pseudonym of some sort, but i could be wrong --- Tristan Stragebrew, there can't be many names like that......or are there?)

Needless to say, he didn't tell me lol, but told me that he may start writing a new chapter very soon! Can't wait

Speaking of thank you's, i would like to thank everyone who has sent me comments and who has followed me so far, thank you for welcoming me into Blog Land, i do feel very at home, so cheers.

With regards to everything else, it has been two average days at school and at home (Thursday and Friday.) So i just need to get on with my homework and get some practice in for my Music Test on Monday.
Busy times ahead....

Rowan
