Good Day :D

I woke up today dreading it, mainly coz i thought i was just going to be doing schoolwork all day and hopefully try and read a few blogs in between, you know, just a general day stuck in the house.

But as soon as i opened the curtains i decided that was not happening, probably the sunniest day of the year so far, i was doing something.
Funnily enough, i was a few minutes away from calling Steven when he text me asking me if i wanted to go play football so i said i did and he came and picked me up and took me down there.

Alex was there too as well as two other friends, Jon and Dave.
Only 5 of us, i thought there was going to be more but we paid for a pitch and got the whole thing to ourselves so we could do whatever the hell we liked.

And we did...

Got tired tho after a while of course and then i hurt my knee when i stretched too far for a ball so i just laid there in the sun, pretending to be more hurt than i was which was nice.
Then Dave "the medic" came along.
Dave, is kinda small for being 15 but he is so so cute i think, i wonder about him sometimes, if he might be gay or bi and what happened didn't change my train of thought.
I was lying on my front out of tiredness and complaining my knee was hurt and he came over and sat on my back and started rocking back and forth.
Gawd i did not want to move, even if it was in the middle of the pitch with other people around lol.
So i said "Dave, it's my knee that hurts" and he just said "Oh right, i knew that" and got off me :P

That was definetely my main event of going to play football today!
Not long after that, our time was out but it suited coz we were way past tired anyway, so Jon walked home with Dave and Steven's dad took me and Alex home.
Alex came back to mine for a bit, we went on the trampoline, sat in the garden coz the sun was still out at this point then i went round to his for a few hours, messed around on the guitars (he has 3), played his playstation then i walked off back home.

So no schoolwork or blogs read today. Whoops.
But a very good day tho, hope tomorrow is sunny as today but that might actually be a bad thing coz i have biology easter school to go to :(
But when i get back i should be able to go read some more blogs.
Here's hoping it rains tomorrow lol, nah just kidding, the UK needs as much sun as it can get!

Cheers,
Rowan

And speaking of sun, here's a new Rage song i found that i really love right now, its awesome!

My Cousin Has a Blog!

Yeh, great news!

Back when L posted her reaction to me coming out to her (which i copied onto here) she was on Wordpress so i didn't know whether to link her or what not.
But recently we have discussed things and she has decided to move onto Blogger :D

Also, formerly knowsn as "L", it is now Lauren.

Yeh, obviosuly Lauren is a girl lol, but hopefully that wont change anything, after all, i'm sure she will talk about boys too lol.

So, please, for me, but more so for Lauren, pop in and say hi, leave a comment, follow, do what you like, i'm sure it will be appreciated. Won't take much time or effort either.

And here's the page : http://lifeof-lauren.blogspot.com/
I've put it in my blog list too.

Cheers,
Rowan

But, of course, it will be more than just for the day :P

Brokeback Mountain

Last night i watched Brokeback Moutain for the first time :D

I didn't know what to think of it beforehand to be honest coz i've not really heard much about it before. I knew what it was about but not much else.

I really enjoyed it tho, i thought it was great, i can see how it won so many awards.
Jake Gyllenhaal and the late, great Heath Ledger were superb.

I wanna talk more about what happened lol, but obviously there will be people reading this who haven't seen it before, so to those people i do recommend the film.

I was reminded of the film a few days ago by somebody and then i said to myself "Oh yeh, i still havent seen that"
So i proceeded to download the film off Rapidshare (forgive me) but then i remembered my mum came in with a copy once she got from a charity shop, asked if anyone was interested to which everybody politely refused :P

This was ages ago but i wondered if she kept it or not and voila, it was there, in the depths of the DVD collection downstairs.
Had to do some digging around to get to it.
Made sure i returned it properly.

Something quite strange happened today tho.
Me, my mum, dad and uncle were all in the living room waiting for the Liverpool game to come on and dad was flicking through the tv schedule and said to my uncle "There's something you can watch when you get back home"

I looked up to see it was Brokeback Mountain he was talking about, coincidence or what? :P

So my uncle just laughed and then that made my mum bring up when she brought the DVD home from the charity shop. (Strange or what?)
And she said, "I havent watched it, has anybody?"
My uncle said tht he knew my brother had. Dunno how he knows that one, but from my knowledge, my brother has never watched it.
My dad said he never has any intention to watch it.
Then attention turns to me....
So i said that i've watched it before :P
Didn't say when tho but it is quite strange that the topic of Brokeback Mountain should come up less than a day after ive watched it.

My dad gave me a strange look and, with a slight grin, i asked him if there was a problem, he just turned away and said no....

Mum and my uncle didn't say anything but my mum said something during the football which made me think i might have got my impressions about her wrong....

At some point, like during most football matches, two players went in for a tackle and ended up tangled together.
Commentator said something then my dad said, "I'm sure he doesn't want his butt in his face"
My mum said "Not unless they're a couple of gay boys"

....

:(

Maybe i do have my mum figured out wrong....
Maybe this was just a one-off comment....

I dunno but it definetely put me on a downer.

At least Liverpool won the game tho and are through to the semis :)

But back to the actual topic of the post.
If you haven't seen the movie, i think you should check it out, regardless of whether you are gay or not coz the whole movie isn't just about gay cowboys :P
It's a love story, and of course, with love stories, there are always difficulties and this is no exception.
So yeh, go give it a watch if you can.
I'll post the trailer below too :)

Love you guys,
Rowan

Easter School (Eugh.) and Britain's "Gay Capital"

I woke up this morning (somehow) and the first thing i knew was that i had Easter School to go to today.
Not helped by the fact that the rain was extremely heavy and i didn't get to sleep until at least 2am, so i only got about 5 hours sleep. (I swear msn will be the death of me :P)

I quickly jumped in the shower, got out, dried my hair, had some cereal then went out the door. Luckily my dad was on hand to give me a lift but regardless, i was still in a very zombie-like state.

So when i got to school i eventually livened up a bit, there were more people who i get on with who i didn't expect to be there. Alex was there, Louis was there, Steven wasn't haha, actually i have a funny story about him but i'll tell it later on.

My first class was english, and these aren't normal 50-minute lessons, one class lasts the whole morning (9-12) and the other lasts the whole afternoon (12:30-15:30)
Good thing i got to sit beside Alex, but it was also quite a handy lesson.
The teacher went over the best ways to answer questions from an unseen passage and, admittedly, i did find it quite useful.
One point we were talking about a journalist describing George Bush as a political dinosaur (as you do), then she put me on the spot and asked me another way to describe a dinosaur and i just blurted out "Prehistoric animal" without even thinking....
Got a well done from her and a few nods of approval from other people lol, i was quite chuffed with that :)
Not much else to mention about english tho, was rather uneventful apart from that.

At lunch, i just made a quick trip to cafe as there wasn't enough time to go to the shops on the main road and i returned for 3 hours of maths, what fun....

Sat beside Alex again this time, as well as Louis.
It was quite a good lesson too, the more maths i do, the more i will learn obviously, and therefore increase my mark in the final exam here's hoping.

Overall, Easter School was quite a good thing i think. I'll be back in tomorrow for modern studies in the morning and biology i think next monday afternoon.

But with today's lessons all done with, the only thing left to do was return home so Alex, Alan (the cutie :D) and i got the train home.
Alan had to get off early :(
Me and Alex got off the next stop which is actually one stop before mine but i wasn't gonna let Alex walk home in the rain by himself of course.

So i got drenched. But it was worth it, we stopped caring about the weather and just started laughing about what's been happening with Steven and a three-legged dog we seen being walked in the street lol, which then moved onto a conversation about a no-legged dog being transported around on a skateboard lmao, ahhh good times.
We parted ways tho, still laughing about Steven.

So here's the story :

For the past few days, Steven has been in Brighton. Brighton is also renowned for being the "gay capital" of Britain.
Steven goes down there with his dad maybe once or twice a year as his grandparents live there.
So anyway, he has been sending me a few texts one saying that the weather was sunny, 27 degrees celcius and another said "English girls are hot and think i'm hot too"
Lol, you wish Steven.
So i thought i would share some of these texts around with a few friends coz i just knew the reception they would get.
And i was right, everybody just laughed lol.
So i sent a text back saying that 27 degrees celcius doesn't exist in Britain, let alone in April.
And he's all "Well my granda's barometer is really accurate"
"What? More accurate than the Met Office?"

So everyone was laughing at the crap he was spouting there.
But of course, the main point is Steven and his dad actually being in the so-called "gay capital" of Britain.
Two of the most unlikely people you would think of going there.
And then, before he goes there, being all talk as usual, he's giving it large about how he's gonna go to Brighton and turn everyone straight "the way they should be"
Aye, just get walking.
Pretty glad to see the back of him last week to be honest :P

Wish i had grandparents in Brighton lol, that would be cool.
Funnily enough, one of my cousins goes to university in Brighton....wait a minute....naah, she's got a boyfriend from what i know :P

And speaking of cousins, in a few posts time i have something very cool to mention about when i will be seeing them next, it's gonna be cool!

Love you guys,
Rowan

Hehe :P

Just gotta love that guitar solo, no?
One of Queen's longest from what i know.....

Congratulations JJ and Mike!

Everyone go to JJ's blog right now and congratulate him, i demand you do! - http://3jhome.blogspot.com/
He and Mike are out to JJ's parents!

Perhaps not in the way they would have liked but they are still out and i couldnt be happier for them coz his parents took it well.

Guys, well done, congratulations, can only hope my parents are as good as yours when i tell them....or am outed.

Love,
Rowan

Suppose the song i posted earlier is still relevant so imma re-post it.
For JJ and Mike.

You'll Never Walk Alone guys :)

Pyjama Day!

Who loves a pyjama day? Well, if you wear pyjamas of course.

Truthfully, i don't normally but last night it was really cold so i put some on :P

This hasn't been a really long day for me coz....i was in bed till half past 3.
Lol, thats bad, i know.

It's coz i stay up till like 3am talking on msn and that was no different last night but don't get me wrong, i only stay up that late due to time zone differences and coz i want to stay up to chat to people.

It was at least 3:30am before i went to sleep tho then i woke up at 9:30am for some reason but i just nodded off again.
When i woke up i got the fright of my life coz my ipod said it was half past three in the afternoon lol.
Also annoyed at myself coz i missed some football on the tv.

So i didn't bother getting out of my pyjamas at all today, told you i was having a lazy day, and tomorrow will be no different but i will put some proper clothes on tomorrow or i will start to stink :P

Even tho im not religious i wish you all a Happy Easter for tomorrow, enjoy all your chocolate!

Mmmmm.....chocolate *drools*

Love ya's,
Rowan

P.S I'm going to post a song below, it's different from most of the songs i post on here.
It is the anthem of English football club Liverpool FC, who i support. I don't just like it for that reason, i think it's actually a really lovely song.
It also has a message for anyone who is going through a tough time that there will always be someone there for you and i listen to it whenever i am having difficulties.

I'm really posting this coz there are a few people who i hold very dear in my heart who I know will be going through their own storm soon.
Walk on guys.

Easter "Holidays" and Plastic Drums (aka Handy Headsets)

School has wrapped up for 2 weeks now, good times.

Or is it?

Suppose it must be but there is the little matter of studying and easter school to contend with.

First exam (music) is 26 days away. A scary thought.

Gotta get studying, but that will happen at the start of next week.
After such a horrendous week i feel i am due a break.
What with feeling ill and the mutiple tests....

So i did absolutely nothing today, still trying to get back to 100% really, and i've decided that i'm having the weekend off too.
Enjoy the weekend, stuff my face with chocolate eggs on Sunday and get my head down on Monday.

Then Tuesday, i will be going to easter school.
I have an english class in the morning (9am - noon) then maths class in the afternoon (12:30pm - 15:30) so all of that and i only getting a half an hour break :/
I will have a modern studies class and a biology class too i think but i will find that out for sure on tuesday.
It's all for a good cause tho, mainly for maths, coz i'm ok on english and modies.

I'm noticing a slight improvement in maths tbh.
The first test i did on Tuesday was fairly easy, even for me, but there was a question in it i dont think i could have even attempted a few weeks ago.
Second paper on Wednesday was more difficult tho and the one yesterday was difficult too but i think i'll get an extra 10 minutes to finish it, maybe on Tuesday, coz school finished 10 mins early yesterday.
Got good feedback from the 1st paper tho, not the final mark, but the teacher said i done well in it! :D

But back to these holidays.
I don't have many plans apart from studying and easter school. I'm sure there'll be a day or two tho for some footy with some of my friends and i think i'm going round to Alex's house with my bass one day.

....

Have i ever mentioned that i do that sometimes?
Have i even mentioned Alex plays guitar?

Well, if not, i'll say it now, Alex plays guitar and sometimes i go round to his and we mess about on the bass and guitar, playing along to songs.
Will be a bit more difficult now coz of my new big amp (that causes too much fugging noise :P) and also coz of upcoming exams which is why i havent been over for a while.

So apart from studying, school, maybe football and maybe some guitar, my holiday doesn't consist of much.

A cool thing happened last night tho that i want to talk about.
I've never had a headset for my computer and i never, until last night, intended to get one.
So i was browsing ebay, amazon etc. and then out of the corner of my eye i spot my xbox headset lying on my desk.

Hmmmm.....

So i did some research online and tried using my brother's play and charge kit to plug the controller into the PC. This did work but it has to be a fully wired controller to work properly, of which i dont have.
Back to ebay, amazon etc.

And then out of the corner of my eye i spot my rock band drum set lying in the corner of the room.

Hmmmm.....

They're wired, they have a headset socket and a USB connection so i tried.

And it worked!

Lol thats right, i have my headset working on my computer via a set of plastic drums....

What? I saved money!
Don't need to buy the headset now.
Although it does mean i need to have the drum set sitting next to me to use the headset so i suppose i can pick up a cheap wired xbox controller instead.
But i'm still really happy that i got it working, without asking anybody's help and did it for free.

....Also....managed to.... send...some....voice clips....to....somebody :D

Hehe

So that worked out great.
Those plastic drums really are useful.
I am rather good on them too :P
I play expert on Rock Band, probably coz i'm quite sad but at the same time its still is quite a skill, one that i have managed to convert onto real drums too.

So saying that, i shall leave with what is my favourite song to play on Rock Band at the moment. Not just is it fun to play but it has a great bassline, great drum solo, great guitar solo.....blah, blah, blah :P

It's Tom Sawyer by Rush :)

Cheers,
Rowan

Here's a better video but it doesn't allow you to embed it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7DFsBcVMDA

You can see the whole drum solo on tht video and it just amazes me....

Need to listen to more Rush me thinks :P

Love you guys
